Choosemypc.net - Sleeving Prototyper
This is a really cool custom / diy sleeving selector which will let you choose colours for your custom sleeved cables before you buy the sleeving for making braided cables.
Here is the design/colour scheme I plan on going with (click the little image icon):
(the green is for the ATX power - To turn on ATX power supplies when not connected to a mother board you bridge the green connector with one of the 3 black connectors to switch it on)
Ok mechanical keyboard information dump…
After spending a bit of time doing some research on mechanical keyboards and the differences in the switches, here is what i have found.
It’s important to know which switch you want before you buy. (my work keyboard - The Corsair K70 - comes with a choice of blues, browns, blacks or reds)
Here is a guide with info on the different switches, what they sound like and the feel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xaGVicSnxo
You can also buy a tester so you can get the feel of what each switch is like before you go and buy a keyboard.
The Cherry MX Switch sampler:
Its £9.00 on amazon.co.uk from “The Keyboard Company” - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cherry-MX-Switch-Sampler/dp/B00I0VX4VS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408435341&sr=8-1&keywords=cherry+mx+tester
or if your in the USA
$10.99 from “Max Keyboard” - http://www.amazon.com/Max-Keyboard-Keycap-Cherry-Sampler/dp/B00E71W4O8/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1408436435&sr=1-1
Finaly you can also ad “o” rings to the keys to reduce the clack of the key hitting the switch. I dont have o rings in my Corsair k70 as standard but may add them as when i get my speed typing on its gets abit noisy in the office.
